1928 Charles Martin Ink Drawing of Very Stylish Looking Woman! painted stick when they were used toI was reading in the NYT this morning about the closing of Metro Pictures gallery, which became a force in the 1980s showing the "Pictures Generation" artists Cindy Sherman, Louise Lawler, Richard Prince, etc. I've had this drawing sitting around for a bit and for whatever reason it jumped to mind, I think because this woman looks very early 80s to me, and also a bit like a gallerist, and also perhaps more as if drawn from a film still than from life.
