He was deposed in June and was succeeded by his uncle, Richard, Duke of Gloucester, who ruled as Richard III. Edward and his brother Richard, Duke of York, were subsequently murdered in the Tower of London From Kings and Queens by Eleanor and Herbert Farjeon, 1932.
