El Nino de Atocha, 19th Century Tin Nicho Retablo (as Found) handwriting book but wonderful as a rugA lovely 19th century painting of El Nio de Atocha, aka a young Christ, with basket, staff, cape, green curtains behind, and flowering urns to either side of his throne. Painted on tin, with tin walls framing him, this would have been the center of a nicho, probably with decorated panels extending out to either side. I can never resist that baby sky blue used for the ground of the painting here, and love the detail here, everywhere, plus those huge
