Man in Carriage, Horse with Hidden Head, Fantastic Tree and Fantasy Architecture, Nancy Linton's c. 1880s Ink Drawing brown glazed vase that also look like flamesSuch a delight! I know from the New England dealer I purchased this from that the Nancy Linton who signed it (quite proudly!) was Nancy Isabel Linton, born 1868 in Charlotte, New Brunswick, in and around where she lived her whole life. (d. 1935). I would guess she drew this during her school years, early mid 1880s, and love everything about it our Nancy was not afraid of bold gestures, and I imagine her as a young woman with a mind very much her own!
