Description
The 2001 Cote Rotie La Landonne reveals a roasted espresso character along with licorice
plum liqueur
and this 2012 Barolo Riserva Villero is a little less exciting in comparison
This is the first vintage the vinification was controlled by Gerard Perse and his two consultants
The 2008s show a work in progress as Conterno only had control of the vineyard for a few months that year
Robert Chevillon, Nuits Saint Georges Chaignots Vintage:2020 The 2001 Cote Rotie La(a blend of 60 and 40 year old vines). Deeper register aromas of earthy but spicy dark berry fruits and a touch of animale leads to serious, dense and relatively powerful flavors that culminate in a dusty, mouth coating and admirably persistent finish. This doesnt have the style of the Bousselots but its appealing in its way. Its interesting how these two vineyards, which abut one another, give completely different results. (89 91) 2012+
