The box is in good antique condition: there is some wear and aging to the wood

but I love the drawings of these two little girls and dog with tongue hanging out of its mouth so much

Oilcloth (also known as American cloth) was traditionally made through a fairly labor-intensive process of treating close-woven cotton or linen cloth (I believe this is linen) with a coating of boiled linseed oil to make it waterproof

Whatever the case, especially in this wide chain link collar, it looks the sort to protect one from unwanted visitors! (While also looking as if yearning to be loved.) Quite poised, but for one ear and eyebrow that twitched during the photo, resulting in a blur just there, which top me has the effect of
