but looking more closely one sees it is bluer in the recesses and under and around the lip

just a couple of small hairlines on the back of the vessel between the handles

my guess would be 1940s-50s

This one was once the possession of a young James McFarland, of Lebanon, Tennessee which is precisely where I found it. I find the lettering spelling out the name of his hometown, surrounded by many iterations of his name and and various marks and shapes and numbers etc. pretty beautiful. More at the end, too, looking
