perhaps glad to be freed from the dowel that once stuck in his back and held him up to make him dance

I'm not sure who is Bella and who is Marion (who care noted on the reverse), but what a sweet pair, looking as if heading off somewhere together, the leader's extended arm ushering the way and her flowery hat making one think it must be somewhere festive! 2 1 4" x 1 3 4", pencil and watercolor on heavyweight paper, unevenly trimmed but in. very good condition.
